The Martial Arts Masters Series is dedicated to Ed Parker, Sr., American karate pioneer, promoter, actor, instructor, author, and "Father of American Kenpo." In 1964, Parker originated the "International Karate Championships," the largest and oldest ongoing tournament. Parker had a Hollywood flair about him that eventually attracted celebrity students such as Elvis Presley, Blake Edwards, Robert Culp, and Warren Beatty. Also, he was credited with helping to launch the film careers of Bruce Lee and Jeff Speakman. He authored over 25 books and 65 educational videos.
