Mitchell burst on to the karate scene in 1966 with a dazzling set of kicks that could score on an opponent at any time. In the true Taekwondo spirit at the young age of sixteen, Mitchell was ranked in the top five karate fighters and many times over the next five years was ranked number one, earning him the name of "Boy Wonder." Mitch held such titles as the All American Champion, Universal Champion, Marine Corp Champion, North American Champion and was a member of the U.S. Team at the first World Championships in Japan. In 1970 he retired at the top of this game.
