George won various junior black belt titles in the 1960's including the National Karate Championships. In the 1970's George was known for upsetting some of the great fighters with his powerful hand assault and sweeping techniques. Thanos won such titles as the All American Open Champion, Top Ten Nationals Champion and North American Karate Champion. In 1975 George became one of the original PKA full contact fighters and held a world rating in the Light Heavyweight Division. |
